Corned beef katsu

About the Recipe

Maybe you've just done an hour at the gym. Or perhaps you've been on a long walk on a chilly morning, You need something substantial and quickly. You've come to the right place - my corned beef katsu sandwiches can be made in a jiffy and they'll fill the emptiest of tummies.

Ingredients

1 can of corned beef (340g)

2 tbsp plain flour

1 large egg

60 - 70g panko breadcrumbs

some veg oil for shallow frying

3 ciabata rolls


mayo, brown sauce or ketchup for seasoning



Preparation

open the can of corned beef. carefully slide a knife in to loosen c and then tip the corned beef out


stand the beef on end and cut into 3 equal slices


coat the corned beef slices with the plain flour, then the beaten egg. 


next, give the corned beef slice a good coating of panko breadcrumbs


put 1.5 cm of oil in a frying pan, shallow fry the katsu until lightly browned.   turn over and fry again until lightly browned on both sides.


cut your ciabata rolls in half and place your corned beef katsu in the ciabata. season with mayo or brown sauce


your corned beef katu are ready. serve with some salad
